About me

Software Engineer focused on developing full-stack applications with Python. Skilled in communicating effectively, identifying and solving problems, conducting research, and designing solutions. Eager to learn new technologies and apply them to solve real-world problems. Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable applications. In my spare time I enjoy sports, the outdoors, and collecting nostalgia.

My career as a Software Engineer

As far as I can remember, I have always admired the potential for technology and have been interested in learning more about it. In December of 2021 I decided to read a book teaching the basics of Python. I was fascinated at what could be done with just a few lines of code. I wanted to understand more, so I decided to take a private 12 week course from a Software Engineer.

My first project

Following several weeks of intensive study it was time to build my first project using Python! I created a NBA prediction app that would tell a user which of two teams was likely to win by pulling data from a API. It was a life changing experience, and with that experience, I decided to become a Software Engineer.

Used Python to construct a back-end program that would take two teams given by a user, and select the most likely winner by comparing each of those teams statistics from a API.

My coding bootcamp training

After thorough reflections, I made a decision to join an immersive coding bootcamp at Coding Dojo. During my 28 week program, I intensively coded, searched, read, and coded more. It was such an incredible learning experience and opened my mind to even more possibilities. This is what my bootcamp experience looks like:
